Who We Are
We are the chapter of the American Student Dental Association at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. As a national organization, we represent more than 87% of all dental students. We hold national and regional meetings, participate in lobby days, organize school events such as mixers, Lunch and Learn sessions, and specialty seminars. More about our history and founding can be found on the National ASDA website.
The Mission of our National Organization
The American Student Dental Association is a national student run organization which protects and advances the rights, interest, and welfare of students pursuing a dental career. It represents students with a unified voice and provides information, education, advocacy, and services. The association introduces lifelong involvement in organized dentistry and promotes change for the betterment of the profession.
The Mission of our Local Chapter
As a local organization, we have three main goals.
- We strive to provide programs to educate members on topics important to their career development and political understanding, as well as to supplement regular curriculum.
- We strive to provide a means by which students may participate in and communicate with the American Student Dental Association (ASDA), American Dental Association (ADA), and Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS).
- We strive to act in concert with the HSDM Student Council via the appointment of 1 ASDA officer to serve as member of that body.
This and more can be read in our Constitution and Bylaws found in our Documents section.
